USING THE PRINTER

  • 1. Look at the back of your Mantis in the top left corner. You will find the Mantis's name, password, the web address, the z offset, and the extrusion multiplier.

    2. Next go to the device you want to use to connect to the Mantis and bring up the list of available wifi connections. On windows, this is a wifi icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. On Mac it's in the upper right hand corner.

    3. Look on your wifi list and find your Mantis's name (which will be in the format "Mantis3dPrinter##") and click connect. You will get a pop up that will ask for the password. You can find the password located on the back on your Mantis in the top left corner. Input the password and click connect.

    4. Once you are connected to your Mantis you can open up any internet browser and type in the address "192.168.4.1". Then the browser should pop up with our interface.

  • No, the Mantis 3D Printer doesn’t add supports natively. Whenever we find a file that needs support we use a program called Cura. We created some videos on our YouTube to walk you through the process.

Reminder: There is usually a general rule of thumb. If an overhang tilts at an angle more than 45 degrees from the vertical, then you will need to add support structure onto your 3D print.
